The Peanut Butter & Jelly Challenge Is Back to Help Dunedin Cares!
Dunedin, FL –
The 2021 PB&J Challenge is almost here! According to elementary schools.org, over 51% of the Public Elementary and Middle Schools in the Greater Dunedin area have students who participate in the Free or Reduced Rate lunch program.
Summer vacation which commences May 29-August 14 increases the financial hardship on families who need to provide a breakfast and lunch for their children, thus the increased demand and the Challenge.
Dunedin Cares is asking local businesses, churches, civic organizations and individuals to participate in the Peanut Butter and Jelly Challenge so they can stock their shelves to meet this increase summer need. The Pantry needs canned tuna, canned chicken, peanut butter and jelly, oatmeal, cereal, pancake mix, maple syrup and more!
*Please, no bulk containers! We prefer easy-open and small-medium sizes in plastic (rather than glass) containers!
The Challenge will run April 15 through May 15. For more information you can visit Dunedin Cares at https://dunedincares.org/pbandj. The Dunedin Times will also be posting the PB&J Challenge on our site and social media platforms.\
